RAHUL MALHOTRA MD, FACC, FSCAI
INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY

Rahul Malhotra, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I. has performed more than 14,000 cardiovascular procedures and has more than 25 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine with expertise in advanced/complex coronary intervention, carotid artery, deep vein thrombosis management, peripheral vascular intervention and treatment of varicose veins. In addition, Dr. Malhotra is one of the leading experts in transradial coronary angiography and intervention. Unlike traditional methods of heart catheterization, where tubes are placed through a small incision made in the leg, Dr. Malhotra can typically perform the entire procedure (often including fixing a blocked artery) through a small incision made in the wrist. This allows patients to get up and walk much sooner, and in randomized clinical studies, has shown a reduction in potentially life-threatening bleeding, particularly in women. Patients are usually in and out of the hospital the same day, within hours of the procedure.

Dr. Malhotra has published numerous articles and abstracts on cardiovascular disease management in respected peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Cardiology. He has been extensively involved in ground-breaking clinical research. Currently he is involved in 17 clinical trials. Dr. Malhotra has lectured extensively locally and internationally on a variety of cardiovascular topics at major medical conferences.

He is proud to have founded of a 50-bed heart hospital in New Delhi, India, which serves as a center of excellence for cardiovascular care in Northern India. Dr. Malhotra strives to do the best for all of his patients and excels in new techniques to improve patient outcome and comfort. He practices by the “Golden Rule,” treating each patient as he would want to be treated.

Dr. Malhotra did his fellowship training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Brown University Integrated Hospitals, Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at State University of New York in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He is a graduate from Fordham University in Bronx, New York.
